Friday, July 27, 2018 Devil Creek Campground, Flathead National Forest, Montana https://maps.google.com/?t=h&q=48.25142,-113.46329 Well, that didn't work. Apgar campground on the west side of Glacier National Park is a zoo. Completely full. I decided to move down the road just a bit instead to another National Forest campground. It has almost all the amenities of Apgar at about ½ the price and is about halfway between the east and west sides of the park. I could have stayed at Summit, but this place is more open so my solar panel gets more sun and the water is good. The water at Summit campground was brown. The other thing I did today, besides moving camp, was get a replacement faucet for my shower. The shower in the trailer works sort of like a home shower with a knob you pull up to change from tub to shower. In this case, it changes from the sink to the shower head. The old one decided not to divert the water to the shower, so it need...

Thursday, July 26, 2018 Summit Campground, Lewis and Clark National Forest, Montana https://maps.google.com/?t=h&q=48.31792,-113.35139 It's been much cooler today. The last few days reached 90 degrees, but today was only in the high 60s. This campground is just outside Glacier. I've been reading that the campground I want, Apgar, has been filling before 11:00 am, so I'm about ½ hour away. I'll leave early tomorrow morning, get a site and then come back for the trailer. In the meantime, this campground is in deep forest: Right on the southern edge of Glacier National Park: It's also along a raiload that's had traffic all afternoon. Now, at a quarter to 8 in the evening, it seems to have quieted down.

Wednesday, July 25, 2018 Jumping Creek Campground, Lewis and Clark National Forest, Montana https://maps.google.com/?t=h&q=46.76430,-110.78518 I've stopped here for the night on my way to Glacier National Park. It's a small campground along a stream.: It's not a very nice campground – they cut all the trees down because of some fungus, so it's kind of barren looking. It's also got lots of flies and mosquitoes. I sat in the shade near the creek reading with the ebook reader in one hand and a flyswatte in the other.

Tuesday, July 24, 2018 7 th Ranch RV Camp, Montana https://maps.google.com/?t=h&q=45.48993,-107.37476 I'm at an RV park just down the road from the Little Bighorn Battlefield. Jim and Lisa know about this place. I stopped here because it's a full day's drive from home and I can get electric hookups to run my air conditioner. This morning I fixed a problem with the RV that I discovered yesterday before leaving. Some kind of wiring issue between the trailer and the truck, caused by the electric tongue jack I installed. My fix is to put a switch on the installation and turn it off when the jack is not being used. This afternoon I'm going to go down to the battlefield and attend a ranger talk and then do the driving tour.

Monday, July 16, 2017 So I've spent several months trying to decide what I wanted to do this summer. The first idea was a trip to Italy. But as time went by, that seemed less attractive. While in Yellowstone in May, I realized I hadn't been using the camper very much the last few years. So that would be it – a trip with the trailer. But where to go? After a few weeks, I hit on it. The best place I went to on the Alaska trip was Hyder. But I was only there for 3 days, so this time, I'll make it a week, and do it a couple of weeks later after the bears have found the fish. Also, when I was there, people had been talking about places further south along the British Columbia coast, so I've added Prince Rupert Island and place called Bella Coola. Add in visits to Banff, Jasper and Glacier National Parks, it makes a pretty good trip. After working on the itinerary some, I realized I could be back in Yellowstone in mid September...
